to review, from time to time, the policies and programmes of the University and to suggest measures for improvement and development of the University.
to advise the Chancellor in respect of any matter that the Chancellor refers to it for advice.
to maintain and fulfill the basic aims and objectives of the University as set out in Act, and to determine and regulate the educational, research, financial and other policies of the University.
to consider and adopt resolutions on the annual report and annual accounts of the University, annual audits and the financial estimates.
to monitor overall administration of the University and to appoint, discipline or dismiss the Officers of the University in accordance with the procedure laid down under the Act, Statutes, Ordinances, Regulations or Rules.
to manage the revenues, resources and budgets of the University.
to provide for raising, receiving, spending and borrowing of funds.
to receive grants, donations, gifts, prizes and scholarships.
to appoint committees and delegate powers.
to enter into arrangements with universities and institutions of repute.
to perform such other functions as may be prescribed from time to time.
