New Delhi: Medhavi Skills University (MSU), a leader in promoting skill-based higher education, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Vedic Maths and Abacus (IIVA), an NSDC Approved Training Partner. This transformative collaboration is aligned to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 mandate of skill-based education. It is aimed at offering courses to up-skill and re-skill individuals interested in teaching Vedic Mathematics and Abacus.
Under the MoU, MSU and IIVA will exclusively curate Training of Trainers (TOT) courses to equip educators with the new-age skills necessary to teach ancient and modern mathematical techniques. Two professional courses are being launched under this partnership, viz., Certificate in Vedic Maths, and Certificate in Abacus. The duration of the two certification courses is up to 6 months. Recognized and approved by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), these courses are aligned with NSQF (National Skills Qualification Framework)/ NHEQF (National Higher Education Qualifications Framework). Successful candidates will be provided digital certificates and transcripts that will be verifiable through Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), and Digi Locker.
Speaking on the strategic collaboration, founder and chancellor of MSU, Mr Pravesh Dudani, said, “India has a rich heritage in mathematics, with significant contributions to the field through Vedic mathematics and numerous other discoveries like Zero. Once again, the country is embracing its roots in Vedic Mathematics, which is supposed to play a significant role in enhancing the country's soft power on the global stage. Through the partnership with IIVA, MSU aims to empower educators in the field by curating professional degrees for them.”
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajesh Gupta (Chairman & MD) of IIVA stated, “This collaboration is a significant step towards nurturing the next generation of educators in India. Through this MoU, we are not only preserving ancient wisdom but also applying it to modern educational needs. Together, we aim to create a strong foundation for numeracy skills, helping individuals improve their mathematical proficiency in ways that are both innovative and time-tested.”
