Nutrition and Dietetics is a multidisciplinary field that explores the intricate relationship between food and human health. It encompasses the study of how nutrients are processed, absorbed, and utilized by the body, as well as the role of diet in preventing and managing various health conditions. By understanding the science behind nutrition, dietitians and nutritionists play a crucial role in promoting optimal health and well-being in individuals and communities alike. Through dietary interventions, education, and counseling, they help people make informed choices about their food intake, leading to improved health outcomes and quality of life.
Our specialized Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) program in Nutrition and Dietetics offers a comprehensive education in this vital field. Over three years, students delve into subjects such as biochemistry, physiology, food science, therapeutic nutrition and public health nutrition, gaining a deep understanding of the factors that influence dietary patterns and nutritional status. With a focus on evidence-based practice, our program equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to assess nutritional needs, develop personalized dietary plans, and promote healthy eating habits. Through specialized courses and hands-on training opportunities, students develop expertise in nutritional assessment, meal planning, diet counselling, and more.
